Plumbing

The plumbing is made up of 3/8" copper. Where it enters the HLT, Boiler, TUN, Pump, and chiller, I use 1/2" silicone tubing as a union. I found that vinyl tubing gave a vinyl taste. Vinyl also turns white when it gets too hot and it can't withstand the high tempretures coming from the boiler. The Silicon tubing is more flexable and can handle up to 290 degrees and leaves no nasty taste.

Here is how the valves work.

  • Striking V5 + V4
  • Recirculating V2 + V5
  • Sparging V1 + V4
  • Chilling V3 + V6
